This type of content has always been popular and lately I’ve seen it a lot on YouTube. Therefore, I was inspired and applied the story to my own blog. What would I do if I had to start an Amazon business from scratch but with the knowledge I have today?
Rely on data for early purchasing decisions
I have said this on another occasion. The advantage is in the purchase and not in the sale. The best sales are made when you can buy at a good price. For this you need to invest a lot of research time. There are products that you can sell on Amazon with a high ROI, but you can’t find them in these types of YouTube posts or videos. You have to do the job from scratch.
Today, I would rely much more on the data of tools such as Helium10 or Keepa to choose one product or another. In the past, it was luck that helped me find the best sellers and / or products with a good return on investment. It can be done much more efficiently.
Quickly get the first 10-20 reviews as a seller
Those who sell on Ebay will know that it is not that hard to get the first 10-20 reviews as a seller quickly. Amazon is another planet. If you get 20 Ebay reviews on Amazon, you still get 1 for the same amount of sales. There are tools that allow you to request reviews through Amazon and you should use them. It reminds me that we have to resume this task when we are already in 200 evaluations, which is not that much either. Targeted task….
Leaving home to search for products
Because of the importance of this point, I mention it twice. Not all purchases are necessarily made from the laptop at home. Having the right products to drive the first sales is so important that once you know what to look for, you also go to physical stores to do it. This is something I would definitely do if I had to start from scratch. In fact, at Christmas I did it because in a Supermarket here they were selling a product that allowed arbitrage on Amazon. The quantities in one purchase were limited, so you can imagine they saw me often on Christmas Day.
Yesterday we had a regular selling day on Amazon. 367 euros of profit, it is little for the ambitions that we have. 157 euros came from Pokémon, so this part of the business is up (also because the other part has gone down). It is thanks to the fact that I start shipping from Germany every week sending parcels and letters. Taking into account that every pack I do nothing else brings in 2-3 euros, you really have to take advantage of it. This is not for those who are looking for quick and easy cash, because it is not.
