Explore, a strategic section for advertisers
As a reminder, Explore is a space in the Instagram application that allows users to find and discover content related to their interests, coming from accounts that do not follow yet. This content can be photos, rides, videos, IGTV, stories or even highlights of the products to be purchased.
It is a strategic place to discover new accounts, especially since it is popular among the community: over 50% of members use Explore every month, according to data from Instagram .
The arrival of advertising in Explore
Instagram has declared that it wants to continue investing in Explore, to ensure that the column becomes the best place where users can discover new things and that brands continue to interact with potential new customers. According to their figures, 80% of Instagram users have at least one brand in their subscriptions.
Soon, therefore, Instagram should integrate advertisements in this section that do not contain them. According to social networks, this innovation should appear gradually, to avoid being too intrusive.
Brands will be able to easily expand their campaigns to reach new targets and audiences in the section thanks to automatic positioning. This possibility should be offered to them through a simple checkbox.
The advertising inserts will not appear directly in the Explore grid, but when the user has selected a particular post, they will scroll in the automatic scrolling after this post.
